Last week, at ResQ we marked our 20th birthday!

It was a milestone that brought a real sense of pride, and also the chance to pause and reflect on what we have built over the last two decades. Not just in terms of growth, clients or scale, but in something much more important: the people behind it.
Across our Hull and Seaham sites, teams came together to celebrate, share stories and look back at where it all started. One of the standout moments was recreating a group photo outside the office taken 20 years ago, a powerful reminder of just how far the business has come.
But more than anything, the day reinforced something that has always sat at the heart of ResQ: this business is built on people.

20 Years of Creating Careers
From day one, the vision of our founders was never just to build a contact centre. It was to build something more meaningful. A place where people could grow, develop and build long-term careers.
That idea might sound simple, but in an industry that has a reputation for high attrition, short tenures and transactional roles, this was a different approach from many businesses in the contact centre industry.
Over the past 20 years, ResQ’s focus has been on attracting the right people and then, most importantly retaining and developing, not replacing them. Building capability over time, developing skills, supporting career growth and creating an environment where people feel part of a family and want to stay.

This approach has resulted in what we would confidently describe as market‑leading attrition rates but more importantly, it created something that is harder to measure but easy to recognise: togetherness, passion for the businesses and a strong sense of belonging. That is one reason why ResQ picks up new people and culture awards almost every year…
A Day That Captured What ResQ Is About
In the office on Friday, that philosophy came to life in a different way.
There was a real sense of celebration throughout the day: cakes, games and a bit of healthy competition with the 20‑year quiz. Across both sites, the central theme was FUN.
The large group photos taken outside both offices was helped by a well-timed break in the clouds and brought the teams together, capturing something simple but important: a shared sense of belonging.

We had lots of fun with those balloons – one of the highlights was a great saving catch to stop a flyaway balloon by Barney Wright (who celebrated 14 years with ResQ on the day).

Seeing Gill and Nic recognised for their 20 years in the business, with their black and gold anniversary lanyards and gifts from the team, was a touching moment. It was a recognition of their leadership and a reflection of what they mean to the team. It was also a chance for them to share stories about the journey – they both spoke about the road travelled and how important the team have been in building a great businesses but also helping to carry us through the harder times.
Gill also looked at the road ahead and shared news about the fantastic growth that the business was achieving so far in 2026. With growth from both existing and new clients, built on the great combination of our passionate and capable team with our market-leading AI solution iQ, this is proving to be a winning formula.

Team members were also encouraged to contribute to the Post-It note board – sharing what ResQ means to them. Here are some examples of what ResQ means to people (too many to include them all here!):
