Debt Recovery Manager

We are in search of an exceptional leader to manage our Debt Recovery operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven debt recovery development and management experience. We are looking for someone who can develop a customer-focused, consultative approach rather than aggressive debt recovery, ensuring that great customer outcomes are delivered throughout the debt recovery cycle.

The Role:

  • Develop and lead an exceptional and cohesive debt recovery strategy on behalf of our clients
  • Managing and developing the operations of our debt recovery program whilst leading the debt recovery team on a daily basis to achieve results
  • Ensuring that engagement with customers is professional, empathetic and respectful, through multiple channels
  • Raise awareness and communicate the benefits of our debt recovery program to our extensive client portfolio and support new client onboarding
  • Ensuring the delivery of an exceptional debt recovery service for our clients whilst ensuring that a culture of fairness and honesty is embedded within the debt recovery team
  • Ensuring the department is compliant with the FCA regulations
  • Delegating and overseeing work undertaken to ensure the debt recovery activity is effective and that all administrative tasks are completed
  • Coaching and developing the debt recovery team where relevant to ensure we are delivering an exceptional service

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of debt recovery or collections management experience
  • Exceptional communications skills, with the ability to provide empathy throughout potentially difficult circumstances
  • Proven experience in managing and developing the operations of a debt recovery program
  • Excellent operational and project management, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight timelines and expectations
  • Ability to organise, remain productive, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and have an immediate impact in a high-growth, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly agile and flexible
  • Previous experience in new business sales would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Self-starter, but also a team player with the ability to lead and motivate others
