Job Description & Role Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the delivery of allocated projects; engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, understand the relevant business processes, design, code, test and deliver effective solutions
  • Develop efficient ETL schedules to support timely and accurate delivery of data
  • Using existing data warehousing skills to further enhance ResQ’s mature MI reporting platform
  • Build in checking mechanisms to ensure ongoing veracity of data
  • Following the DevOps model, become an integral member of the IT development team and support the delivery and maintenance of new and existing solutions

Pre-requisite Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Experience in MI development and delivery, using Microsoft BI stack including SSIS, SSRS and SSMS
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases, using Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
  • Experience developing and maintaining ETL & data management processes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to document and discuss potentially complex technical concepts to a diverse audience
  • Ability to analyse and troubleshoot existing code and workflows
  • A can-do attitude is a big requirement for a successful application, additionally a calm, mature manner is a must.
  • Attention to detail – methodical, thorough and accurate with the work you do

Summary of Role and Key Responsibilities

Reporting to our Head of Quality and Compliance you will be supporting the running of ResQ in capacity as Risk and Audit Manager:

  • Complete Audits to monitor, manage, optimise and fulfil ResQ’s and Clients obligations
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external (regulatory) requirements
  • Produce reports highlighting issues and risks and providing potential solutions
  • Oversee and review processes and make necessary recommendations as required
  • Develop strategies to meet a mix of regulatory needs
  • Develop and Maintain the ResQ Risk Log

Experience Required

We have an opportunity for a Financial Systems Accountant in Hull Head office. Reporting to the Head of FP&A.

This is a key role working closely with cross functional teams providing expert financial advice and guidance into wide system development projects.

The Finance Systems Accountant will be:

  • Responsible for driving the implementation of a new finance reporting and consolidation accounting system and identification of areas of further system development.
  • Providing support across the project lifecycle, from analysis, design and development to testing and supporting training and then into implementation and business as usual.
  • Following the successful implementation, they will be expected to take on responsibility for the day-to-day management of the new system and the preparations of the Management Accounts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support functional design and development.
  • Work closely with business representatives, project management and IT technical specialists to ensure project deliverables are completed to plan.
  • Testing of the finance system and processes, reporting of defects to developers and ultimate resolution of issues
  • Documentation of processes and procedures once testing has been completed
  • Identification and resolution of data issues
  • Design and scope reports and dashboards which can be developed in the system to meet user needs and enhance stakeholder decision-making and planning.
  • Provide regular updates on progress to stakeholders
  • Assist in facilitating training to users of the system.
  • Providing Power BI expertise and assistance to the Head of FP&A, to develop Financial Dashboards using new age analytics and reporting

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified accountant with strong IT skill set (could be QBE)
  • Significant experience in SAGE, preferably SAGE 200c (system implementation, support and application)
  • Finance reporting systems implementation and design of related procedures and controls
  • Experience of Financial Reporting/ Management Accounts.
  • Understanding of Financial Control and Governance framework.
  • Ability to work with complex and large data
  • Expert level knowledge in the use of Excel and Power BI.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the Organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Self-starter able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
